We continued there for the next seven years, graduating in June 1946. The teacher, Edna Cornfoot from Glencoe, had us take both grades 5 & 6 in one year. This allowed us to join with three others who were in Grade 6. This meant that she had one less class to teach.  We finished Grade 5 math & spelling by Christmas. Edna would give us homework to do but we would always do more than she asked because we would try to get ahead of the other. We didn't take  any other Grade 5 subjects but took the other subjects in Grade 6.  We did Grade 6 math & spelling from January until June.  

After graduating from Burwell Road School,in June 1946, we attended Delaware Continuation School for two years until it closed in June 1948.  There were only about 30 pupils in the five grades there. The Burwell School was closed when we graduated because there were only four pupils left in the school.  A man in Delaware was hired to transport those four to another Public School on the Muncey Road.  At the same time he would pickup those of us of Highschool age and transport us to Delaware. 

After the Delaware Continuation School closed, we had to attend Strathroy District Collegiate. However I couldn't take this change to a large school so I quit in September 1948 thus ending our nine years of schooling together.
