Will Nicholson for our family
So thankful to have been blessed over so many years through meeting the Martin clan and their depth and grounding of life and faith. In first year college meeting up with Ray and Gerry, then cousins Rick, Brenda, Neil and Gloria, Ron and Marg and children Terry, Damaris. And then meeting up with the Webers and multitude of friends and extended family that were along in their journeys. Later to visit, Parkhill and Wallenstein, The Bible Chapel communityof faith, the Brick plant and Woodside Bible Fellowship. Have shared so many life giving memories and moments that were nurtured through your parents, aunts and uncles. Sorry to hear of the passing of your mother Velina. Two memories struck me. First, her kind and quiet grace the first time at her home in Parkhill. The second was visiting after witnessing a Grindstone Church outdoor baptismal. She shared her profound observation about their being, " some very good candidates." Truly a celebration of one of God's choicest of servants as I have experienced most of her influence through her family.
I am humbled, inspired, challenged and so, so thankful even now thinking of you all today wishing that I could be with you. I am with great fondness reflecting on your welcoming warmth, contagious laughs, crazy stories, full hearted enthusiasm for sports, music, motorcycles, drama, family times, faith ventures. Your lives have an ongoing and deepening expanding influence on all and any who also have had the divine blessing of meeting up and sharing time along the way with you faithful, wonderful Martin clan and friends. What a tremendous testament to the life of Velina Martin. What an honour, blessing and personal pleasure it has been to be touched by her faith, life and hope. Love to you, Will Nicholson
